So obviously I know this is five months too late but I'm still going to put this up :)
After the great turn out at the very first 'Boutique Boulavard' held in 2012, it was a no brainer for the fabulous fashion filled event to return to Gorey as apart of the Market House Craft Festival. Also with the return of the fabulous Brendan Courtney, who describes Esmonde Street as the Grafton Street of Gorey(not sure if many agree with that one now!).
Not many people know the variety of clothing our town has to offer, with the eclectic mix of beautiful stores. What better way to show case the garments than to do it live for an audience so they can get a feel for the clothing and what the individual stores have to offer.
With the likes of La Creme, Luca, Voila, Fifth Avenue, Place, Sally West, Contra, The Dressing Room, Kibo, Shu4u and the most accredited Ruby Rouge(with their own label 'doll'), to be seen on the runway. Of course, as last year, the models were brought to us by Prima Modeling Agency with the familiar faces of Edel Fleming, Shauna Fleming and Molly Mcguckin. And with only one man modeling in the show, he was the lime light for Brendans mockery, light-hearted of course. He modeled for mens stores ICE and Jack Dunnes.
Gorey has more boutiques per square mile in a town than any in Ireland and all are still thriving to this day. (Makes you wonder how people can possibly dress badly!) And of course once the show was over the viewers got a chance to 'shop till they drop' as the boutiques stayed open late.
Here are just some of the clothing seen at 'Boutique Boulavard'.
